New Delhi (India), March 13<\/strong>: Allen Ling, the American-Chinese sensation who made waves in 2023, is back with the love ballad \u201cCloser\u201d coinciding with his Asia tour in March 2024. Best described as a \u2018love ballad for all times\u2019, the latest earworm from the singer-songwriter and entrepreneur, has the touch of a classic.<\/p>\n

The California-based mix between a business mogul and a musical prodigy decided that just one art form wasn\u2019t enough. Teaming up with Dave Lopez, the guitar-slinging genius from Flipsyde, he\u2019s diving headfirst into the music scene.<\/p>\n

Having launched his formal music career only in 2023, the American-Chinese singer-songwriter swiftly ascended the music charts with his award-winning \u2018Heartbreak Trilogy. The autobiographical singles made hearts throb and radio charts buzz, with the final song Remember snagging the top spots on global radio charts alongside giants like the Foo Fighters and Metallica, Linkin Park, and Daughtry. Allen\u2019s ready to do it all over again. \u201cCloser\u201d is what happens when you mix the innocence of first love with a string quartet and ballerinas, creating a melody so catchy that it feels like it\u2019s always been part of your life.\u00a0<\/p>\n

With Closer, Ling is ready to prove that lightning can indeed strike twice. And who better to share this journey with than Lopez of alternative rap-rock band Flipsyde, his comrade-in-arms, ready to take on the first leg of the tour with him in March 2024?<\/p>\n

During the first leg of his promotional tour in India and UAE, Ling and Lopez will be performing two special sets at the much talked about Them Clones (One Night Only) concert, Piano Man Delhi on March 15 and HT Unwind Food and Music Carnival at JLN Stadium on March 17, 2024, respectively.<\/p>\n

For Lopez, who has been responsible for the Flipsyde hits like Someday and Spun, it was an instant click. \u201cThis is the first song I heard of Allen\u2019s, and I instantly wanted to be involved with the recording. I can\u2019t wait to share it with everyone, live as well. It has that classic appeal,\u201d said Lopez.<\/p>\n

The likes of Guns N Roses\u2019 Brain Bryan Mantia and Melissa Reese have poured their genius into the mix, and Chris Dugan wove in his engineering magic at Green Day Studios. Ling has aimed for the heart with \u2018Closer,\u2019 inspired by the timeless Johann Pachelbel\u2019s Canon in D, promising a track that\u2019s as deep and enduring as love itself. As he gears up for its global release in March, Ling\u2019s got the kind of quiet confidence that comes from knowing you\u2019ve got something special. \u201cI\u2019m okay with being a \u2018one-hit wonder\u2019 if \u2018Closer\u2019 becomes that one hit. Sometimes a song is written spontaneously, it took years to gather the skills and momentum. I hope Closer will endure as one of the best love songs as its foundation is based on the work of classic,\u201d says Allen.<\/p>\n

Aramis Knight, the face behind Ms. Marvel\u2019s Kareem \u2013 Red Dagger, has produced the cinematic music video that is as endearing as the song itself. This is a special project for the popular Actor\/Producer. \u201cOf all the music videos I\u2019ve produced, Closer is the concept I am most proud of. I think music videos give you an opportunity to go much bigger conceptually. The creative freedom and quick turnaround make music videos fulfilling and a quick way to see your visions come to life. For Closer, it felt like the concept was meant to be,\u201d Knight lets on.<\/p>\n

Just like the audio has two versions for radio and streaming, the video also has two renditions \u2013 a quintessential music video and a skit-based music film, once again displaying Ling\u2019s commitment to good storytelling whether it\u2019s via his comic book creation or music films\/videos.<\/p>\n
