Lanjigarh (Odisha) [India], July 18: Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, reaffirmed its commitment to delivering quality healthcare to underserved regions by organising a mega multi-speciality health camp under its flagship healthcare-focused CSR intervention, Project Aarogya. The camp covered 15 villages under the Gobardhanpur Gram Panchayat, reaching deep into the interiors of Odisha’s Kalahandi district.
Held during the peak monsoon season, when communities are especially vulnerable to seasonal diseases, the camp benefited more than 350 patients, addressing the critical need for timely and accessible healthcare in the remote region. With the support of specialists in paediatrics, general medicine, gynaecology, and other allied medical fields, the camp offered immediate medical attention and raised awareness on preventive healthcare practices, helping bridge healthcare access gaps in rural communities.
Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Pranab Kumar Bhattacharyya, CEO – Vedanta Alumina Business, said: “At Vedanta Lanjigarh, we are deeply committed to uplifting communities through sustainable healthcare interventions. This mega health camp is part of our preventive approach to ensure timely medical support, especially in remote villages. Through Project Aarogya, we continue to drive meaningful impact by bringing healthcare to the doorstep of the underserved, especially in far-flung areas.”
Project Aarogya, Vedanta Lanjigarh’s flagship healthcare initiative, has made a significant difference in the region. In FY2024-25 alone, more than 660 Mobile Health Unit (MHU) visits were conducted, delivering doorstep healthcare services to over 20,500 individuals across remote villages. Additionally, more than 680 community awareness sessions were organised, providing more than 15,000 people with essential information on hygiene, wellness, and disease prevention.
Vedanta Lanjigarh remains steadfast in its mission to ensure last-mile healthcare access, reinforcing its role as a responsible development partner in Odisha’s tribal heartland.
